Evidently, the manager lied to us about the way this building conducts sound

Do we have humans living upstairs from us, or elephants? I swear, it was an order of magnitude less noisy around here when the place was being extensively remodeled before they moved in. Or maybe it's just that random thumping noises are more irritating than methodical tool-using noises because they stop more often and every time they stop you think they're done, only to be disappointed.

This is not helping my attempt to not develop into a world-class curmudgeon by the time I'm forty. Nor, of course, is it helping my paper-writing effort, but a lot of things aren't helping that.

Play to your strengths! If you think you really have it in you to be a world class curmudgeon, go for it!

If it is the same noises as last week, then honestly, I think it is a herd of elephants. We should get a long stick and bang on the ceiling, or perhaps drill a small hole and release garter snakes or helium balloons. I would say nitrous oxide but I think it is heavier than air so perhaps that would backfire.

I love how you've got different versions of those drawings of you expressing different emotions. I need a set of those!

Take heart. My status as a journeyman curmudgeon has so far not inhibited my love live in any noticeable way. Could just be that the supreme power of boobies overrides any and all personality flaws. ;-)

That sucks. The sounds that get to me are those damned squeaky box-spring sounds. Geez, people, get a room!

Err... a different room.
