Shackin' up with the government

This financial aid form I'm filling out asks "Are you or your parent in a Registered Domestic Partnership with the California Secretary of State?"

Took me a minute to realize they meant to ask whether I was in a domestic partnership that was registered with the Secretary of State.

(Heck, if the SoS were my domestic partner, I probably wouldn't need financial aid.)

Perhaps it was worded correctly and they reject you on the grounds of favoritism if you respond yes. :-P

But I'd say that form needs to be edited.

It really does. It also asks me, not whether I graduated from high school, but whether I graduated-from-high-school-and-passed-an-exit-exam-that's-existed-for-less-than-a-decade. Like, what, if I graduated before that exam was required, then I'm supposed to say I didn't graduate at all?
