Belated explanation

Yes, I now have a Facebook account. However, there is no point whatsoever in friending me there, as I do not ever intend to log in unless someone posts a message directly to me. The only reason that account exists is so that people I have lost touch with can find me and contact me; if you're reading this journal, you presumably aren't one of those people, and you already have other ways of contacting me which I'd prefer you use.
So if I don't accept your friend request, that's why. I'm not saying I couldn't be talked into actually making use of my FB account, but it would take a lot of persuasion to overcome all the annoying things I hear about it. I just want to have the account as a point of contact for people who knew me way back when.
