From a wasting-electricity standpoint, yes; from the getting-exercise standpoint that seemed to be the one they were going for, I guess not. Still seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to, though.
Hey, maybe they meant they stole the stairs. And then put them back when no one was looking or something. Hell, maybe they meant they raped the stairs. *shudder*
