Mirror, mirror?

A discussion of self-image suddenly moves me to ask all y'all: how much does this icon actually resemble me?

(Needless to say, answer only if you know me in "real life.")

Edit: If you can put into words just how or why it does or doesn't look like me, that would be nice too.

It's not a bad likeness. You're cuter in real life, though.

You're hampered by icon maker's limited hair selection, but, yeah, what they said.

I recognize it as you but I wouldn't use it if I wanted to show someone "this woman I spent most of a party being fascinated by"

Cartoons in general are probably inadequate for that sort of thing, I imagine....

I associate it with you in the same way I associate "light grey on black" on my Friends page with you.

Which is to say, it reminds me of you. I think your hair is darker. I don't think your coloration is that light, nor your nose and mouth as pictured. You wear glasses, but I don't remember them as the ones in that icon. (If you've changed spectacles, I may be remembering you with the first pair I saw you in - my mind works in strange ways sometimes.)

But when I see that icon, I think of you. I also like the cat one, though.

It looks somewhat like you...

..but:
Your hair is much darker.
When I've spent time around you, you are usually smiling more.

And after all, it is a cartoon.

It looks more like you than most of the icons created with that tool look like the people who created them.

I think that it looks more like you than any of my friends' similar icons look like them. The main flaw is that your hair has more volume in real life (and you tend to have it covering your face a little more, though I guess that sort of shoes in the icon.) The glasses and features all look surprisingly right.

Nothing to add...

It's a decent likeness, as much as a cartoon could be.

I'll agree with [livejournal.com profile] joedecker that hair *texture* is a big difference in my mind. The glasses, the rest... that works.

I also saw you smile a lot IRL, the one time we've met. A still cartoon can't capture energy, which you have.

It's the most like its person of any I've seen so far from that icon maker, but it's not as expressive as you actually are. The expression is pretty danged near how your face often relaxes, though.
