Thanks, although I don't think it was nearly as brave as it would've been if I'd thought there was a chance he'd actually think ill of me for it.
And yeah, I've been vaguely aware that people don't have the examples to convince them it'll work, but I somehow hadn't quite realized that would apply to my dad. Now that I think about it, it seems that although I knew he'd be worried for me, I hadn't even tried to guess what form his worry would take.
