Random event?

There appears to be some sort of carnival/midway type deal set up near the Oakland Coliseum, with Ferris wheels and all the other brightly lit trappings. Anyone know what event it's associated with?

I've seen that more or less randomly for years. I think it's just a travelling carnival.

I can remember going to it 11 years ago. It is, indeed, a traveling carnival. It seems to have a lot of the same rides, from what I can tell from the freeway.

It's fun to see the too-cool-for-school Oakland kids walk through all chill, then scream with joy like the kids they are once they get on the rides.

Yes, it's a traveling carnival, complete with bright lights that buzz when you get close enough, cotton candy, bricks o' pink popcorn, and rickety rides. Many years ago my ex & I went because I wanted to check it out. It was fun and memorable to go, and I don't find a burning desire to return. I do enjoy seeing the pretty lights from the freeway.
