Writer's Block: Let the shopping begin!

Holiday gifts? What is this concept of which you speak?
Seriously, gifts are right at the bottom of my Love Languages list. I can't pick gifts for crap, and I refuse to give anyone just any old gift because I hate to receive just any old gift. (I have such a hard time getting rid of things that my living space is filled with stuff I don't need; additional stuff I don't need just adds to that problem, so I'd really rather receive no gift than receive a gift I can't use.) So I mostly just don't give gifts, or expect to receive them, and I adamantly refuse to feel extra pressured to do so at any particular time of year--especially at the exact time of year when shopping is the most hellish because everybody is doing it. And on those miraculous occasions when I do find a gift I think someone would really like, I see no reason to wait till the holidays or any other special occasion to give it to them, unless that special occasion happens to be right around the corner.
So yeah, er...yay anti-consumerism or something.
