PSA: Absentee voters who thought they were too late still have a chance!

I've just found out that you can apparently fax absentee ballots instead of mailing them. This may come too late for some of you, but if you got your absentee ballot too late to mail it in and you can't make it to the polls in person, you've still got time to fax it in; call your registrar's office to get the number.

Spread the word, please. I've heard of way too many people in this election not getting their ballots in time.

Oh God I hope that's not true - what an open invitation to vote fraud!

Hmmm. I imagine there's some identifying information required with them, like a copy of the envelope--in which case they'd work like provisional ballots.

They require a SS number and a passport or other ID number, so that they can verify your identity and that you didn't vote twice.

I had to fax from Paris, as my absentee ballot for Berkeley got lost in the mail.
