Okay, now I wish I hadn't waited till late in the day to vote. One of the women at my polling place thought I wasn't allowed to get a new paper ballot when I mis-marked the old one. When I told her I was pretty sure I was, one of her fellow poll workers looked it up and told her I was right, but I shudder to think how many people came through that day and were forced to cast mis-marked paper ballots.

Ehh. Yeah. Such a sensitive thing, these people should have the rules memorized, so much so that they're reciting them in their sleep.

Not all the rules perhaps, but certainly the important ones. At least they should've looked over all the rules so they'd know 'em to the point where if someone tried to correct 'em they'd recall hearing something like that and go look it up. It's not like they don't get the materials ahead of time and have them right there to refer to.
