Blurting [potential TMI]

I feel I must set this down as evidence both of my vastly improved living situation (as compared to last year) and of my growing lack of shame:

This evening I rousted my roommate out of the bathroom with the words "Yo, [my date and I] need to pee so we can fuck!"

Yay, increased freedom of expression....

My mom knows I'm poly. She knows the names of folks that I hang out with a lot; she and I talk a couple of times a week, and I tend to chat about what I've been up to. While I did correct her misperception of what "getting together with [livejournal.com profile] akienm, [livejournal.com profile] dawnd, and our friends Lisa and Jen" meant, she didn't find me to be being unethical.

(I also find it really not important to put a lot of effort into clarifying *for anyone* (other than partners, who have SSA-related entitlements) who I am or am not sleeping with.)

That was what kept me from telling them, though if I'd found a way to just tell them I was poly some of the crap might've been avoided.

I hadn't told my housemate I was poly before I moved in. I figured it wouldn't matter too much, and really didn't expect to settle into several relationships as soon as I did. Fortunately, it has been a total non-issue with my housemate.

Same exact thing happened with me, except that it did turn out to be an issue. *sigh*
